Answer the Prayer of Jesus
The topic of biblical unity among Christians by Christ’s definition demands a sense of urgent focus among people of faith who maintain that God indeed put in motion a plan to save mankind by the crucifixion of His Son. John Lathrop’s book is a must read if you number yourself among this group of professors of Biblical principles. It is a must because no Christian vision or goal is obtainable without this unity; no congregation can hope for God’s blessing; no clergy can expect success; no display of Christ’s presence with His church is visible; no evangelism of any kind is possible by the church if unity is not real among.. us. What is this unity and how is it obtained on different levels of fellowship and relationship are questions that demand an answer. That makes this book required reading.
Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers, Then and Now
There are few books that I keep close to me for personal reference. John Lathrop’s “Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers Then and Now” will be one of those books. I was very impressed with the varied perspectives on each of the “five fold” ministries. I gained new insight into each and how they apply even today. The concepts on why the words “Apostle” or “Prophet” are overused or discouraged by Christians today is very informative. Most impressive is how Lathrop stays biblicallly sound on each topic. I would HIGHLY recommend this book for group studies and individuals alike. It does not matter if you have been in ministry for years, or a new believer. However, I personally believe that every minister should own and read this book.
Can You See God in this Picture
These are the thoughts of someone who once pastored churches. These thoughts are written primarily to my sons who grew up in the church. Such an experience is more often than not lacking in the beauty and meaning that God envisioned when He first called His church into being.

Homage to Haiti (a novel)
For an American, it is difficult to imagine that people in Haiti, with all that trials and tribulations, can pursue happiness the way we hope that people do everywhere. Meet people like these as an enlightening experience. This is a remarkable inspiring and surprising tale.
Foundations of Faith
The christian faith is an adventure unlike any experience humanity has ever known, filled with countless adventures and discoveries, but the journey is also packed with dangerous, worldly persuasion.
Hey God
The Story of the beginnings of the IFCA church in Burgettstown, PA.

Jots and Tittles
Christians speak of the logos (ideas) of God becoming a rhema (words) from God. This represents the process of turning Bible ideas into specific principles for life. It is a closer look at the trees in the forest and not just the forest. It is flying lower and lower over the message until the very words and grammar become visible and we ultimately land on the path God has mapped out for living that message.
The Power and Practice of the Church
This collection of sermons and essays reflects John Lathrop’s manifest skill as a teacher of the Word: cerebral, full of substance, light on the clichés, thought-provoking and inspiring. He writes from a Pentecostal perspective, but pulls no punches when addressing myths common with Pentecostalism. He opens the scriptures to us as an experienced pastor, well-read, addressing significant and sometimes controversial issues within the church, including the gifts of tongues and prophesy, divine guidance, spiritual conceit, women in church leadership, collecting offerings, and Jesus as a model for the church’s public ministry. And always, he frames the issue as a story of hope, expounding on the life-expanding stories of scripture.
Some Men are our Heros
Stories by Women about the Men Who Have Greatly Influenced Their Lives Edited by Dr. KeumJu Jewel Hyun, Cynthia Davis Lathrop. Do the little things we do and say really make a difference in the lives of others? Some Men Are Our Heroes answers.

Soul Baptism
Ever think it should be possible for a fundamentalist Baptist who believes in the Calvinistic doctrine of “eternal security” to be in full fellowship with a tongue-talking Pentecostal…. Lucian Gandolfo thinks so, and attempts to reconcile these opposing Christian groups…through the Word of God they both hold dear!
